President and CEO
Leading the way is Hazen’s President, Martha H. Schumacher, CFRE, ACFRE, MInstF. Martha is a global philanthropic thought leader, consultant, author, presenter, coach, and champion. Dedicated to giving unparalleled client service, she provides training and coaching, executive campaign counsel, and comprehensive major gifts strategy. Martha is a compelling keynote speaker; host of Glad You Asked©, a podcast about active listening (glad-you-asked.captivate.fm); and former AFP Global Chair. She lives with her husband Casey and their two sweet yet energetic rescue dogs Gage and Josie.
Amy Butler Smith
Senior Advisor
Hazen’s Senior Advisor, Amy Butler Smith, M.Ed. has been an integral part of the Hazen team since 2010. Experienced in strategy development, philanthropy, client relations, marketing & communications, and event management, Amy has played key roles on health nonprofit teams including the Children’s Miracle Health Network and National Campus Leadership Council. She holds a Master’s Degree in Higher Ed Administration, working in academia including Case Western Reserve University and Kent State University, the latter where she taught several classes. Amy lives in Maryland with her husband Jacob, their son Jack, and their daughter Leah.
